The deadly intersection in front of Sunset Middle School has now been designated a state school zone.The move comes after it recently was turned into a four-way stop. Governor Brown signed a bill adding the designation at State Highway 184 and Sunset Boulevard south of Lamont. Speed limits in school zones are strictly enforced when students are present. There had been three fatalities at the intersection in recent years prompting parents and residents to call for traffic control.
