The California Highway Patrol will be helping concerned parents install child car seats correctly at a free event in west Bakersfield.

Officers will be at the Babies “R” Us near Rosedale Highway and Calloway Drive from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The CHP says at least 80 percent of car seats aren’t installed correctly.
