Bakersfield police have announced the results of their recent DUI and drivers license checkpoint. Almost 12 hundred vehicles were stopped Friday night at Union Avenue and Texas Street in central Bakersfield and five arrests were made for people driving under the influence. Another 66 people were cited for driving without a valid license. Checkpoint locations are chosen based on accident and DUI statistics and are not revealed ahead of time.
