Kern County’s only female honor flight recipient is being laid to rest. Kay Nilon served in the Army during the Korean War and died last week at age 88. Her son, County Administrative Officer John Nilon, traveled with her in April to the war memorial in Washington D.C., her burial is Saturday at 2:00 at Greenlawn Cemetary.
