Kern County Supervisors on Tuesday will consider whether to declare a fiscal emergency in the face of plummeting oil prices.

The county is expecting an over 60 percent decrease in tax revenue next fiscal year, and is considering slashing its staffing.

Supervisors can dip into reserve funds after declaring an emergency.
