SUPS WORK ON POT ORDINANCE

The county ban on new marijuana dispensaries has been extended for another year as staff works to regulate sales in the wake of Proposition 64, which legalized the recreational use of marijuana and allowed for a small number of plants.

But Interim County Counsel Mark Nations told Supervisors Tuesday that it’s been difficult to prosecute those who violate the ordinance.

The county has until January 1st to draft new rules that regulate or ban marijuana sales allowed under the new state law.
