The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating National Public Safety Dispatchers Week. They’re the people who take 9-1-1 calls and send help when there’s a fire, accident or crime. The 29 dispatchers and call takers for the county are being recognized for continuing to provide outstanding service despite ongoing budget cuts.
