A semi fire brought out a hazmat response on Interstate 5, just south of Grapevine Road, as the truck was carrying a material believed to be reactive to water.

The fire around 7:00 Tuesday night spread to nearby grasses and shut down the southbound freeway for several hours as it was cleaned up and the small grass fire was put out.
