The family of Merle Haggard is expected to be on hand Wednesday to dedicate the I-5 and State Route 44 freeway overpass in Redding to him. A local radio station launched the campaign to honor the Hagg, who lived in the area for several years before his death last year on his 79th birthday. CalTrans had installed the signs last month.

The post office in downtown Bakersfield will also be renamed for him soon.
