MAN GETS 14-YEARS FOR KILLING STRANGER

A Bakersfield man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for an attack that killed a 55-year-old man. Deputy DA Gina Pearl says 32-year-old Quinton James had never met Abel Prendiz before punching him two years ago outside an apartment on South Union Avenue. James apologized to the victim’s family in court, co-defendant Guadalupe Ruiz was sentenced to 18 years in prison in October.
