Supervisors have agreed to take two staffers tasked with keeping an eye on Kern Medical Center’s finances off the county payroll.

Under the deal, hospital CFO Andrew Cantu will absorb the two positions into his private company. It will balloon the county’s contract with Cantu from $1.4 million to $3.3 million.
