The man accused of firing a shotgun at deputies during a pursuit in south Bakersfield has pleaded not guilty to several felonies, including attempted murder and assaulting an officer. 24-year-old Carlos Gomez was chased down after getting out of his car near Gary Place and Burchfield Avenue last month.

Gomez’ next court date is in February.
