The California City man charged with stabbing a man numerous times during a fight has pleaded not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon. It’s unclear what led to the confrontation between Matthew Mendez and the victim last year at a party in off Proctor Blvd. but police say witnesses held Mendez until officers arrived.
