An autopsy is scheduled for a 19-day-old infant that was found unresponsive by her mother at the family’s home on Cotton Avenue in Buttonwillow.

Kern County firefighters performed CPR on Ximena Sandoval just before 6 a.m. Thursday. She was pronounced dead after being taken to Mercy Southwest Hospital.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office will conduct an investigation, which they routinely do after the death of an infant is reported.
