One person is dead after a fiery head-on crash near Hillcrest Memorial Park east of Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol says It happened at around 5 p.m. on Friday when a truck crossed the center line of Kern Canyon Road and struck another vehicle.

The truck then burst into flames. The driver died at the scene.
