UPDATE: Bakersfield Police have arrested 42-year-old Stephanie Heninger in the 5400 block of Summer Cypress Drive for Hit & Run and Vehicular Manslaughter. The suspect vehicle was located and seized in Riverside County.

Authorities and the family of 65-year-old Deborah Ann Geneau, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on July 22 near CSU Bakersfield, continue to hold out hope that the person responsible for the crash will be found after police released a new detail regarding the suspected vehicle.The family of Deborah Geneau and Bakersfield law firm Chain | Cohn | Stiles are still offering a $7,500 reward for the person who helps identify the driver of a 2013-2019 dark gray Nissan Sentra that is suspected of causing the crash on Stockdale Highway near Don Hart Drive. That vehicle turned into the bike path parking area across from CSUB immediately after the collision, police said.
The vehicle has minor driver’s side damage, and also a Proposition 65 warning sticker on the driver’s side windshield, which police have just recently identified. This sticker is confirmed by auto dealership CarMax to be the same style of sticker they place on their inventory, and placed in the same location of their vehicles.

“We all hope that someone has seen this dark gray Nissan, with this Prop. 65 sticker on the driver’s side windshield, and will provide information that will lead to the suspect,” said Matt Clark, attorney with Chain | Cohn | Stiles. “We hope this new information will help get the Geneau family justice, and ultimately, closure.”
