Added restrictions on water use have been approved by the State Water Resources Control Board.

Tuesday’s expansion calls for a twice-a-week maximum for watering lawns and a sprinkler ban after rainfall, along with new hotel and restaurant regulations.

Local agencies will have 45 days to implement the new rules after a state review.
