Highway 178 through the Kern River Canyon is closed again due to another rockslide. One last week damaged some of the pavement. This one, though, not only has one giant boulder in the center of the road, but Christian Lukens with CalTrans says there’s another one that could also fall, so it’s not clear yet how long it will take to make the roadway safely passable…
Lukens says using Highway 155 is the safest detour, although locals may know some county roads.
