A big shakeup is in the wind, with the announcement that Buck Owen’s Crystal Palace is up for sale. Former and longtime KUZZ news director Mark Howell says the Bakersfield venue has seen many great performers over the years.

The Crystal Palace opened in 1996 after years of dreaming and planning by KUZZ founder Buck Owens, who died in 2006.
