The man accused of setting more than half a dozen fires near the Kernville Airport is being held on $290,000 bail and faces charges that include resisting arrest. The Sheriff’s Office says they received several calls Thursday morning of a man lighting fires, but 25-year-old Jamal Buyuan of Hawaii refused to pull over and led deputies on a pursuit before crashing into a boulder on Burlando Road. Just over 88 acres burned before the fire were stopped and no structures were damaged. Buyuan is due in court Tuesday on 10 counts of felony arson.
