A 41-year-old California woman was arrested and accused of animal cruelty after she cut her dog’s throat and placed it alive in a trash can. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reports firefighters found the dog Wednesday during a fire call at an apartment complex in Carmichael. The dog was taken to an animal hospital. Deputies said they fear other animals may have been harmed while in the woman’s care.
