Police are asking for the public’s help to find the next of kin of a man who was murdered in south central Bakersfield. Any relatives of Javier Mata 39, are asked to contact the Bakersfield Police Department. Mata was shot during an incident in May in the 100 block of Union Avenue. Two suspects have been identified in the case. Call BPD at (661) 327-7111 or the Kern County Coroner if you have any information that might help investigators.
