Two children have been apprehended after a robbery attempt at a Smart & Final in northeast Bakersfield. It started Saturday night when three kids entered the store on Mt.Vernon Avenue off Highway 178. One of them flashed a gun under a shirt at a cashier and threatened to return the next day. Two of the juveniles went back to the store on Sunday and were apprehended when employees called the police. Officers say they didn’t find any weapons on the kids. There’s no word on the ages of the children or whether they’re in the custody of guardians or were taken to juvenile hall.
