bakersfield attorney answers to dui charges

A Bakersfield attorney accused of driving drunk and crashing into a DUI checkpoint enters a not guilty plea to two counts of DUI and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. William Wright, 42, allegedly had a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit when he reportedly struck the back of a Highway Patrol cruiser as crews were setting up the checkpoint at Calloway and Slikker Drives December 14, 2024. An officer and young people in the CHP’s Explorer Program were injured. Prosecutors say Wright has two prior DUI convictions. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20.
