A man who had two prior “strike” offenses when he attacked a neighbor who was heading to work will spend the rest of his life in prison. Antonio Tellez, 42, was convicted of assault and threat charges after the incident in November 2022 where he punched a neighbor a neighbor in the face in an unprovoked attack and threatened to kill the man and his family when the neighbor hid inside his apartment in southeast Bakersfield. Tellez’s two prior strikes made him eligible for the life sentence.
