A man accused of killing his roommate then setting his body on fire in east Bakersfield has turned himself in to authorities in Florida. Timothy Coons, Jr., 33, is awaiting extradition after surrendering to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday. Authorities say he shot 51-year-old William Irving twice in the back and set fire to his body which he wrapped inside a tarp after an argument on July 4th. Other roommates reportedly said Coons told them he did it for them because Irving was always starting fights.
