It has been a remarkable 25th anniversary year for Little Big Town. The chart-topping country group celebrated their quarter-century together by taking part in a sold-out national tour with Sugarland, releasing a greatest hits record, finally putting out a long-awaited Christmas album, and capping it all off by hosting a prime-time holiday special, Christmas At The Opry, that aired on NBC on Monday night (December 16). The two-hour show featured the celebrated country quartet performing a selection of their joyous holiday songs from the legendary Nashville venue, where they were joined by special guests Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Sheryl Crow, Kirk Franklin, Josh Groban, Kate Hudson, and Orville Peck. “It just kind of hearkens back to those old variety shows, or the days of the Barbara Mandrell shows and Sonny and Cher and The Johnny Cash Show,” says Karen Fairchild of their holiday special. “It gave me all those vibes, plus the holiday vibes.” (Variety)
